What is a carbon footprint?

A carbon footprint is the "measure of the impact human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of green-house gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide (CO2)." Carbon output from individuals and organizations is caused by burning fossil fuels— including domestic energy consumption and transportation (auto/plane)— and therefore impact overall global warming. Each type of energy consumption plays a roll in climate change; Metro is focused on reducing auto CO2 emission and saving our environment for future generations.

To help reduce your footprint use public transportation, walk, bike or carpool as much as possible. Find out about Metro’s bus services click here
