ERM secures funding in many ways
Government grants
Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services has provided $100,000 in federal TANF funds to be used exclusively for transportation of TANF eligible low-income residents. These funds will be available through local charitable agencies. (click here for a list of partner agencies).
OKI has recommended that ERM receive a 2-year, $718,000 federal JARC (Job Access Reverse Commute) grant to provide transportation to work, job preparedness programs or job interviews. The JARC grant requires a 50% match. In total, there is $359,000 available per year from OKI to be matched by another $359,000 per year from other sources for a total distribution of $718,000 per year. This means $1,436,000 will be available to fund work-related transportation for low-income riders in 2008 and 2009.
Private foundations The Greater Cincinnati Foundation has chosen to award a $200,000 grant over two years to match JARC funding.
