Your contribution to the Metro Green Fund will go towards replacing diesel buses with hybrid buses. Hybrid buses use a mix of combustible fuel and electric energy (including regenerative braking, electric motors, and battery storage) to reduce the carbon emissions into the atmosphere and operate more efficiently. The hybrid buses are more fuel-efficient (33% more than conventional diesel buses), are lower-emitting and the overall cost of maintenance is reduced.
A standard diesel bus cost about $325,000. A Hybrid bus costs about $510,000 - that’s $185,000 more than the standard diesel bus. Help us put Cincinnati on the Green map!
